The Hinsdale Dayz Organization

Other Facts of Interest

Many people have been associated with Hinsdale, that have been an important part of the Hinsdale area history, and deserve mention on these pages.
One such contributor was Leonard Fordyce Swift. Leonard was a great friend and asset to the people of Hinsdale as was his father the Reverend Samuel Ross Swift.
Sadly we lost Leonard on February 17, 2015. Leonard is truly missed.
A great deal of history happens over 200 plus years. One place to start to go through it is on our Hinsdale Trivia Page, it touches on some of the big things, some small things, and some weird things.

The Hinsdale Dayz Organization was the result of the 2004 Bicentennial Committee. The Committee met again later that year in review of that years celebrations. In 2002, a committee was formed in anticipation of the 2004 two hundred year birth of the Hinsdale Massachusetts Incorporation. The committee met regularly and created events to fill that summer with community oriented ideas that would bring the town together with celebrations. Spearheaded by Carole Forward, the Bicentennial Committee became excited about the idea to continue with community events and incorporated as a non-profit organization named Hinsdale Dayz, Incorporated. We are now celebrating more than 20 years of continuous family gathering events. This year we are celebrating with the idea of keeping Hinsdale the community it was created more than 220 years ago.
Thank you for your continued support. (Continued on the History Page.)
As the Hinsdale Dayz Committee, we intend to continue organizing and collaborating with other groups offering community oriented functions for families and friends of Hinsdale. We are all volunteers and we are always looking for volunteers to help us achieve our goals.
